I will let you know up front that I am not the cheapest home inspector in the Memphis area. I am also not the most expensive. The reasons I charge more than a cheaper inspector are:

• The cheaper inspector does not offer a money back guarantee. I do, for your peace of mind.

• The cheaper inspector does not carry insurance. I do, for your protection.

• The cheaper inspector does not provide a warranty. I do, for your safeguarding.

• The cheaper inspector does not take continuing education classes each year to keep up to date on new techniques and processes. I do, to keep you better informed.

• The cheaper inspector will give you a paper checklist report before they leave the inspection, never to be heard from again. I'll provide you with a computerized report complete with digital photos so that you'll understand any defects and be able to see them clearly. I finish this report in my office and return it to you within 24 hours via email. I'm also available to answer your questions afterwards, whether it be a day, a week, or a year afterwards because I keep your inspection on file because your concerns don't end when I leave the house.

• The cheaper inspector does not provide you with valuable information after the inspection. I'll give you a copy of InterNACHI's Homeowner's Guide "Manual For a Happy Home" that has tips on protecting your investment as well as sending you additional tips and news via email every month.

Be certain that your Memphis home inspector is licensed, carries professional liability (E&O) insurance, is certified by a national home inspector association, is required to complete continuing education every year, and offers you a home warranty included free with your inspection.
